About the Role
Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for an IT Project Specialist to function as a Middleware Developer. This role involves supporting the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of the Department of Social Services (DSS), including the Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). The developer will create and enhance technology infrastructure and computer applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform development, integration, testing, deployment, and support of middleware applications using JAVA, IBM’s JAVA based Extended Structured Query Language (ESQL), IBM Integration Toolkit, IBM MQ Explorer, and Oracle SQL Developer.
- Run performance analysis, design, documentation, review, and validation of software requirements and technical specifications using Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, IBM Integration Toolkit, IBM MQ Explorer, and Oracle SQL Developer.
- Manage communication of tasks and project status verbally and in writing to the development team, supervisors, executive management, and stakeholders.
- Perform development, maintenance, and support for databases and information systems on middleware environments, defining data structures, data sets, reviewing queries, and database objects.
- Prepare and identify technical tasks, delivery timelines, and project risks with the project team.
- Provide technical expertise and support to end-users of middleware applications and document trouble tickets in the agency’s IT service management system.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above requirements.
