About the Role

The candidate will work in the Litigation Support Division’s Agency Based Discovery, assisting with agency compliance in litigation and analyzing operational systems to improve efficiency and discovery obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management in conducting studies and collecting/analyzing data on operations, including budgetary requirements.
  • Analyze organization structures and operational systems of City agencies.
  • Manage and process requests expeditiously and efficiently.
  • Collect and analyze data, identifying quality issues, and developing/implementing corrective processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of system data, potentially performing data entry.
  • Analyze existing protocols and prepare reports with recommendations for improved efficiency.
  • Develop new system and procedural training and protocol manuals.
  • Communicate with Law Department personnel and client agency staff regarding reports, documents, requests, and issues.
  • Identify, develop, and recommend quality assurance methods to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and conduct searches in assigned client agencies systems for discovery responses.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and with a team, balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prioritize tasks as needed.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, fiscal or economic research; management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or a related area.
  • An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above.
  • A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience.
  • All candidates must have a high school diploma.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the rest of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with productivity software products (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SQL-based databases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
