About the Role
The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director and work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.
Responsibilities
- Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
- Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
- Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
- Train other food service workers.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
- Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.
