About the Role
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR) is seeking a consistent PRN speech pathologist to join an outpatient multidisciplinary team. This role is based at the Austin-William Cannon outpatient clinic but may require coverage at other locations in the area.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, ENTs, head/neck surgeons, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, neurologists, and other referring physicians.
- Perform standardized assessments for disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders to create an individualized, patient-centered plan of care.
- Perform clinical swallow evaluations and interpret Modified Barium Swallow evaluations to safely determine a diet and individualized plan of care.
- Plan and deliver effective patient and family training to address safety concerns and facilitate carryover into the home and community.
- Participate in monthly speech trainings and CEUs related to speech pathology.
- Demonstrate commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience treating adult cognitive-communication and dysphagia disorders.
- Dysphagia experience required.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- LSVT/SPEAK OUT certification required.
- Voice experience preferred.
- 3+ years of outpatient experience with adult neuro preferred.

Experience Level
- 3+ years of outpatient experience with adult neuro preferred
Education Level
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- CCC-SLP certification from ASHA
- TX-SLP certification from the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Salary/Compensations
- $60/hr
