About the Role
We are seeking a Salesforce and AI-specialized developer with a hands-on approach to design, develop, and evolve secure, data-driven solutions that contribute to the Canadian Cancer Society's mission. This role combines Salesforce development, data modeling, integration, automation, and applied AI to implement intelligent workflows, applications, and operational capabilities using technologies like Agentforce, Einstein, large language models, and other Salesforce AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop AI-driven Salesforce solutions, including Agentforce, Einstein, large language model (LLM)-powered workflows, automation, and predictive or recommendation capabilities.
- Develop AI-based features using Apex, Flow, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, APIs, custom objects, data models, permission sets, and integration services.
- Oversee architectural and engineering decisions to ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and compliant with organizational standards, responsible AI principles, and the principle of least privilege.
- Translate operational opportunities into technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions across Salesforce, APIs, data, automation, and AI.
- Support teams through design, Apex and Flow development, code reviews, testing, launch, deployment, and technical support of AI-driven solutions.
- Evaluate and implement new AI technologies, Salesforce AI features, APIs, and integrations that enhance productivity, scalability, and operational value.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to support Salesforce data pipelines and ensure APIs, data models, permissions, integrations, and platform services securely leverage organizational data for AI-driven workflows.
- Define data models, custom objects, metadata, automation processes, and integration patterns for AI workflows, real-time data access, model connectivity, and scalable Salesforce implementation.
- Ensure data and integration designs promote secure, governed, and reliable AI use, including access controls, data quality, privacy protection, and least privilege-based permissions.
- Recommend Salesforce features, API patterns, data services, and architectural approaches that enhance AI performance, maintainability, scalability, and operational value.
- Support change management within Salesforce, including release planning, environment strategy, deployment readiness, impact assessment, rollback planning, and environment coordination.
- Enhance Salesforce development and operations practices, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), source control, automated testing, code quality checks, metadata deployments, and version management.
- Establish development standards for Apex, Flow, LWC, APIs, integrations, configuration, and AI-driven platform capabilities.
- Utilize AI-assisted automation to improve release analysis, testing, documentation, release notes, regression verification, and operational support.
- Contribute to our culture of Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (BIDE) by ensuring all staff feel represented, valued, and heard in all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- Strong expertise in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Flow, asynchronous processing, and declarative automation.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, security, APIs, integration patterns, and platform services.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with operational applications and services using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and secure integration practices.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce development and operations processes, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), source control, automated testing, version management, and environment governance.
- Knowledge of AI-driven solutions, including generative AI, AI agents, prompt design, and AI-assisted workflows, with a solid understanding of responsible AI principles and data privacy standards.
- Experience with Salesforce AI features such as Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder, Data Cloud, or similar AI technologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments and the ability to collaborate with business, analytics, data engineering, security, and technology teams.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I and II, Application Builder, Architect) are an asset.
- Experience in non-profit, fundraising, healthcare, or other mission-driven organizations is an asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is strongly desired, with French being an asset due to the organization's national operations and the need for effective communication across regions.
