About the Role
Shape the future of American Express's pricing strategy for the network domain, partnering closely with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to drive profitable growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop marketable and principle-based pricing strategies that support the overall business strategy and enable the global network business to optimally grow.
- Leverage internal and external resources to gather competitive intelligence and market research across the payment ecosystem in priority markets.
- Analyze historical price/performance relationships, determine drivers of positive or negative outliers, and identify best practices.
- Synthesize internal and external insights to provide critical strategic support for new partner negotiations and contract renewals.
- Develop and maintain scenario-based issuing and acquiring models to provide agile, data-driven deal support.
- Support the continuous development of guiding principles for GNS pricing strategy.
- Develop strong relationships with internal colleagues and decision makers across multiple international teams.
- Cultivate a passionate, results-driven team culture focused on continuous learning and delivering valuable insights.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Banking, or the Payments industry preferred.
- Strong aptitude for analytics; demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated models (mainly in Excel) and draw value-added insights from large set of data.
- Must be well versed in Microsoft PowerPoint and have experience creating decks for various audiences.
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills - ability to influence stakeholders across different regions and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral -- with experience leading discussions with Senior Leaders.
- Results driven with the ability to drive pricing across international markets, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities.
- Experience challenging the status quo and creating innovative, evidence-based, proposals.
- Experience in the payments industry including solid understanding of key business model drivers and pricing practice is strongly preferred.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
