About the Role

The Doctoral College at City St George's seeks an individual to lead the development of consistent, transparent, and effective financial processes and services for postgraduate researchers. This role will drive operational excellence, enhance management information, and support strategic decision-making for PGR provision.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight, analysis, and continual improvement of financial record management and reporting for postgraduate research activity.
  • Serve as the Doctoral College's subject matter expert in postgraduate research finance.
  • Provide guidance to academic and professional services colleagues.
  • Promote best practice and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
  • Administer and manage studentships in collaboration with Schools and Finance/Research and Innovation Services.
  • Ensure effective delivery of payment processes, accurate record-keeping, and robust financial reporting.
  • Contribute to shaping the strategic direction and priorities of the Doctoral College as a member of the Management Team.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience of higher education finance administration.
  • Proven track record of leading service and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams and professional groups.
  • Highly organised and adaptable.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within demanding timescales.
