Responsibilities
- Support the restaurant team through food running, preparation support, guest assistance, and operational excellence.
- Multi-task while remaining in constant view of the guest, when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external guests.
- Maintain quality control for all food and beverage products.
- Maintain proper product rotation.
- Follow all health department, hotel, and restaurant policies and procedures regarding food safety and personal hygiene.
- Take direction effectively.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Make quick decisions with the benefit of both the restaurant and the business in mind.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of all food and beverage items within the restaurant.
- Follow all restaurant guidelines for prepping, heating, re-heating, and serving food products.
- Prepare food, ensuring consistent quality.
- Be detailed oriented.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Maintain, set up, produce food, and control the quality of all food items prepared.
- Visually inspect, select, and use only the highest quality food items in the preparation of all menu items.
- Check and control the proper storage of product and portion control, especially for high-cost meat items.
- Keep all refrigeration, storage, and working areas clean and in working condition to comply with health department regulations.
- Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition.
- Read and employ math skills to appropriately prepare items according to recipes.
- Prepare palatable and proper-portioned food for all guests in accordance with standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion control, time schedules, and sanitary standards.
- Follow serving size standards and presentation guidelines.
- Keep the workplace clean and organized during the shift and follow all applicable cleaning lists during/following the shift.
- Perform other cleaning duties as necessary.
- Properly store, label, and date all food items.
- Properly store food orders and other supplies.
- Ensure all meals are prepared in a timely manner.
- Assist in the training and development of new associates.
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items for production in the work station.
- Prepare food items on the menus for guests according to the Food Production sheets.
- Serve food from the production line during meal periods.
- Assemble, cook, plate, and garnish all food products according to Executive Chef’s specifications.
- Control products leaving the kitchen to ensure each item has been properly accounted for.
- Possess complete working knowledge of the menu, recipes, assembly, and plating specifications.
- Ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with Executive Chef’s recipes and assembly procedures.
- Prepare and follow daily prep sheets to indicate food levels on hand and amounts required.
Requirements
- Serving experience preferred.
- Respect and support fellow team members.
- TIPS certifiable.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more.
- Able to stoop and bend.
- Occasionally able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment.
- Able to comply with safety and health code standards.
- Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks.
