About the Role
The Food Runner expedites the food serving process by running food orders, assisting wait staff, and expediting the kitchen line when needed. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Expedite food orders submitted through the POS system.
- Assist wait staff as needed.
- Expedite the kitchen line on occasions.
- Deliver food orders to guests in a full-service restaurant.
- Present proper food items by seat position according to the ticket.
- Carry an oval tray with hot and cold food items.
- Expedite the kitchen line in the absence of the Expo.
- Provide excellent service to guests.
- Maintain restaurant service standards.
- Ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Communicate with the kitchen to ensure correct order fulfillment.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of every order.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to applicable statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Must obtain a Tips Certification.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from team members or guests.
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to decipher and maintain reports upon request.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Moderate physical ability to lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds.
- Prolonged standing during the shift.
- Ability to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
- Ability to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
