About the Role

Lab Technologists Make It Possible. Lead Lab Technologist - Generalist - Nights at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is needed to serve as a lead generalist for the laboratories. This position will perform testing and help oversee operations between the Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology, and Microbiology departments at night.

Responsibilities

Lead the flow process of the Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology departments.
Run Quality Control.
Perform calibration of instruments.
Perform patient testing within the department, including automated and manual tests.
Resolve patient testing issues.
Oversee instrument troubleshooting issues.
Monitor supplies to prevent shortages that could impact patient testing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science.
New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department.
Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 year of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science.
All roles require on-site presence.
Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
