About the Role

The Campus Crisis Support Staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, predictable, and therapeutic environment for children on campus enrolled in day and residential programs. They provide close supervision, instruction, counseling, and proactive support to all children during program activities, assisting with transitions, intervening in conflicts, and responding to crises.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to crisis in a timely manner.
  • Is flexible, supportive, and accommodating in crisis or unplanned situations.
  • Knows and complies with agency standards regarding Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and restraints.
  • Provides children with appropriate supervision at all times.
  • Adheres to school and residential programming plan and routines.
  • Remains positively engaged with children at all times, throughout the day.
  • Actively participates in team discussions and cooperates to follow through on safety plans, BIPS etc.
  • Completes all paperwork requirements clearly, accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Actively participates in training opportunities and supervisory discussions.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required.
  • Honors Sanctuary Commitments and uses Sanctuary Tools in all day to day activities.
  • Avoids power struggles with children and provides continuous support and encouragement.
  • Completes critical incident reports as appropriate.
  • Treats all children, families and co-workers with respect & courtesy.
  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization.
  • Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma with 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • High Emotional Intelligence.
  • Ability to self-regulate.
  • Experience managing children who are experiencing emotional dysregulation.
  • Must have a driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs.
  • Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, kneel, and lift weights of up to 30lbs.
  • Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
  • The employee must be able to meet these requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation.
