About the Role
At Verve Coffee Roasters, we believe the coffee experience is our responsibility from seed to cup. We are looking for positive and energetic individuals with amazing service skills and a strong desire to learn about coffee to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Act as a brand ambassador by welcoming and connecting with every customer with positivity and enthusiasm.
- Consistently provide quality beverages and food.
- Accurately communicate product information to customers by responding to questions, orders, and concerns.
- Maintain a clean environment, including back of house, bar areas, and patios.
- Contribute to store profitability by following cash handling and cash register protocols.
- Participate in the training and development of new employees.
- Work at different stations in the café as needed and assigned.
- Assist in keeping the Cafe clean.
- Follow all Verve policies, procedures, and processes.
Requirements
- Retail and/or customer service experience is preferred; coffee experience is a plus.
- Must maintain a current state-issued Food Handler Card.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to multi-task and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, written and verbally.
- Must be inclusive, respectful, and professional.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Available weekends and Holidays.
- Hours can fluctuate due to the needs of the business.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing (or being on one's feet for up to 8 hours), walking, bending, stooping, and crouching.
- Requires lifting products and packaging overhead.
- Frequently handle items weighing between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires adept finger and wrist dexterity.
