About the Role
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant position focused on assisting doctors with various procedures, patient education, and maintaining practice cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Assists doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
- Performs expanded duties in compliance with state regulations.
- Assists in clinical procedures including placing amalgam fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments.
- Records and reviews patient health history and chart entries under doctor's direction.
- Ensures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
- Assists the dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies.
- Provides postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the dental practice, both interior and exterior.
