Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care
  • Assesses patient needs
  • Develops and implements care plans
  • Supervises other healthcare staff

  • Monitors patient health
  • Educates patients and families
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals
  • Documents patient care
  • Adheres to nursing regulations
  • Ensures patient safety
  • May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Previous hospital RN experience is preferred
  • BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire
  • PALS required or obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles
  • Ability to provide quality patient care
  • Ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual
  • Must recognize safety issues to self and others
  • Able to assess and implement use of lifts to and move patients in a safe manner
  • Must be able to function well in stressful situations
  • Have good, creative, problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
  • Postpartum and Labor Delivery experience preferred
