About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care
- Assesses patient needs
- Develops and implements care plans
- Supervises other healthcare staff
- Administers medications
- Monitors patient health
- Educates patients and families
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals
- Documents patient care
- Adheres to nursing regulations
- Ensures patient safety
- May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous hospital RN experience is preferred
- BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire
- PAL required or obtained within 3 months of hire
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles
- Ability to provide quality patient care
- Ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual
- Must recognize safety issues to self and others
- Must be able to assess and implement use of lifts to and move patients in a safe manner
- Must be able to function well in stressful situations
- Must have good, creative, problem-solving skills
- Postpartum and Labor and Delivery experience preferred
Skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
