About the Role

Capital One Shopping is seeking a Business Director to improve and integrate new product and revenue opportunities with merchant partners, and drive cross-functional execution. This role requires a demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI, valuing proactive exploration and application of AI beyond basic text generation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business strategies to drive growth, profitability, and competitive success.
  • Manage and develop multiple analysts, providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies.
  • Lead product-level data modeling and analytics.
  • Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts and strategic intent for products.
  • Build targeted insights to inform new customer experiences and technology concepts.
  • Drive improvements in credit performance by connecting consumer credit trends to historical behavior.
  • Create risk models and test hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis.
  • Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute product strategy.
  • Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Collaborate with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other departments to drive improvements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI.
  • Proactively incorporated AI into personal projects, explored AI-driven development environments, or built automations using AI agents.
  • Proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics.
  • Strong quantitative orientation.
  • Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity.
  • Tenacious decision maker with a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach.
  • Solid people leadership experience.
  • Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team and business partners.
  • Foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and deliver results.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including strategic influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Clear results orientation with intense focus on achieving short and long-term goals.
  • Ability to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
  • At least 4 years of experience performing qualitative analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing people management.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing project management.

  • New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900
  • Remote (Regardless of Location): $209,500 - $239,100
  • McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000
