About the Role

As a member of the Regional Services team, this position is accountable for providing education, acting as a relationship manager, and delivering training and support to participating employers and their employees. The role involves ensuring compliance with HOOPP administration rules and regulations, and may require occasional work and travel outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel across the province.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Plan’s primary contact with a block of participating employers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with assigned employers through regular meetings.
  • Provide ongoing and consistent contact with employers to understand their needs and offer value-added services and education.
  • Deliver HOOPP’s corporate messages, education, and training on the Plan's value, employer responsibilities, and administrative processes.
  • Ensure employers understand their responsibilities in plan administration and provide administrative training.
  • Monitor and verify employer compliance with the Plan and governing legislation, developing corrective action plans as needed.
  • Resolve administrative issues between HOOPP and employers, collaborating with relevant parties.
  • Provide guidance on potential pension impacts related to organizational restructuring.
  • Collect and report feedback from employers and employees regarding HOOPP and their experiences.
  • Provide education about the Plan to clients and stakeholders through proactive interactions.
  • Deliver presentations on roles, obligations, and resources for plan administration.
  • Provide education and training on the value and features of the HOOPP Plan to employers and members.
  • Deliver educational presentations for members on plan features and member-facing tools.
  • Conduct individual member meetings to provide education and guidance on pension benefit decisions.
  • Organize and deliver regional seminars for HOOPP members across the province.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with pension plans, preferably defined benefit multi-employer plans.
  • Solid understanding of pension regulatory concepts.
  • Previous experience assessing and managing compliance outcomes is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations in a variety of settings and respond to questions.
  • Superior client service and relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, judgment, and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain pension terminology and concepts in plain language.
  • Good written communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Valid driver’s licence is required.
