About the Role

Support the Human Resources function for Amherst Hospitality Campus, including Reikart House Hotel, Jazzboline Restaurant & Bar, and Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst. Play an important role in the employee experience, from recruiting and onboarding to employee communications, engagement initiatives, HR administration, and payroll support.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting by posting positions, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with pre-employment activities.
  • Welcome and onboard new employees by coordinating paperwork, orientation materials, and required training.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and engagement initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Help organize occasional employee appreciation events, wellness activities, and team-building opportunities.
  • Create employee communications, newsletters, and announcements.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Assist with weekly payroll preparation, audits, and employee payroll questions.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager on a variety of HR projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, hospitality, office administration, customer service, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
