About the Role
The Treasury & Portfolio Finance Manager will be responsible for core treasury and portfolio finance functions across Lighthouse-managed funds, including margin, financing, cash management, and balance sheet optimization. This role supports a global, multi-strategy investment platform with over $20B in AUM and works closely with various internal teams and external counterparties to optimize financing structures and manage risk.
Responsibilities
- Support the treasury and portfolio finance function across Lighthouse core businesses, including commingled funds, strategic custom funds, and multi-PM hedge fund platforms.
- Provide margin, financing, and cash management oversight across multi-asset class portfolios including equities, fixed income, derivatives, futures, FX, and OTC products.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with Prime Brokers, FCMs, custodians, and other counterparties for margin, financing, and funding discussions.
- Coordinate with internal teams on fund launches, manager onboarding, capital deployment, and counterparty setup.
- Support technology automation projects related to treasury and portfolio finance functions.
- Conduct margin and funding analysis.
- Manage financing rates, monitor spreads, reduce short borrow costs, and identify revenue-generating opportunities for Funds’ long portfolios.
- Optimize the balance sheet across custodial relationships.
- Manage dividend exposures for European and Asian portfolios.
- Support and enhance the securities locate and stock borrow process, including daily analysis of financing markets and active securities.
- Assist in the build out of Treasury System via two already-approved third party vendors focused on the aggregation, calculation, and optimizing of financing and margin.
- Lead the development and implementation of an internal securities lending infrastructure for Lighthouse internal PMs.
- Partner with the Counterparty Management Committee on relationship oversight, exposure allocation, and counterparty risk management.
- Collaborate with Legal and Implementation teams on onboarding new managers, including margin, funding, and counterparty analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience within Prime Brokerage, Clearing, or a hedge fund environment – specifically in a treasury, stock loan, and/or client service role.
Skills
- Solid understanding of funding and margin mechanics across asset classes.
- Experience supporting hedge fund launches and complex fund structures.
- Familiarity with multi-asset class products including equities, fixed income, derivatives, swaps, futures, and FX.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across investment, risk, legal, technology, and operations teams.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience managing complex projects and external counterparties.
- Comfort working with treasury, margin, and financing systems and third-party vendors.
