About the Role
The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is seeking a Regular Part-Time Restaurant Host to join their Food & Beverage team. This role involves greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient and attentive service to provide an excellent dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and seat them accordingly.
- Assist customers with coats and bid farewell to guests.
- Book reservations and respond to inquiries regarding menu and general restaurant operations.
- Respond to customer comments and complaints, referring to a supervisor as required.
- Prepare the restaurant for opening and/or closing, ensuring cleanliness and order.
- Rearrange tables as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a host in a reputable, established restaurant.
- Directly related experience in taking, timing, and callbacks of reservations to suit table turnover.
- Demonstrated experience operating a POS System.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- High attention to detail.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of restaurant/hospitality practices and procedures.
- Well-developed customer relations and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Skills
- Experience with Open Table is an asset.

Salary/Compensations
- $19.14 - $24.03 per hour
