About the Role

The Associate Director, Controls & Risk Artifacts leads the controls and risk infrastructure for the CM AI Governance program, focusing on controls architecture, risk assessment, artifact quality, and the transition of AI programs to production governance maturity. This role is key to the 2027 governance delivery plan and anchors the team's controls and risk artifact workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the build and delivery of the Archer risks and control mapping CM AI Governance and own ongoing management of risks and controls including assessment, revision, and 1LOD control maintenance.
  • Own the end-to-end pipeline for risk artifacts across Aiden programs, driving the transition from pilot-stage documentation to production-ready governance artifacts.
  • Ensure all risk assessments, control frameworks, RCSA entries, and approval artifacts meet enterprise documentation standards and are maintained through post-launch compliance cycles.
  • Support the AI & Digital Governance Officer and the Director, AI Governance in delivering governance for strategic AI programs.
  • Provide controls and risk artifact support for AidenBanker, AidenGCB, AidenCOO, and other high-priority programs, ensuring governance milestones are met on schedule.
  • Maintain and update controls in Superdash, Enterprise Issues Management, ERIC, and Archer.
  • Conduct periodic control reviews and coordinate with first line-of-defense teams on implementation and operation of CM AI Governance controls.
  • Support the Director, AI Governance in drafting and maintaining governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Contribute controls expertise to policy development workstreams and ensure policy requirements are translated into operational control designs.
  • Ensure the CM AI Governance controls infrastructure is maintained to a standard suitable for internal audit and regulatory review.
  • Maintain complete documentation, evidence files, and review logs for all controls within scope.
  • Ensure CM AI Governance program is aware of and aligned to impending reg changes, enforcement actions, and guidance cross-jurisdiction and cross-regulators.
  • Coordinate with risk partners, Technology, Compliance, and first-line teams to ensure control implementations are practical, operationally embedded, and generating appropriate evidence on a routine basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in risk management, compliance, regulatory affairs, first-line business operations, or business analytics in a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk and develop practical solutions in dynamic, fast-moving contexts.
  • Regulatory knowledge and awareness of key regulatory frameworks (OSFI, FINRA, FCA, EU AI Act) relevant to financial services and emerging AI governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in ambiguous, evolving environments and drive decisions to completion with incomplete information.
  • Background or experience in Capital Markets, Global Markets, electronic trading, or similar high-velocity business units.
  • Hands-on experience with Archer GRC, governance platforms, data analytics tools, or similar systems that support governance, compliance, or risk reporting functions.
