About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to bring deep, practicing electrical expertise into our product. You will pair years of hands-on design experience with product development to translate excellent EE thinking, reviews, and judgment calls into capabilities within our automated design engine product. This product leverages AI to automate every step of the engineering design process, producing end construction design deliverables for large-scale capital projects like utility-scale power and data centers. You will set the standard for correctness on all electrical deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Own the electrical design of large-scale power distribution systems end to end, from one-line diagrams and load flow through HV/MV distribution, substations, transformers, and switchgear.
- Set the bar for what "correct" means on every electrical deliverable.
- Turn engineering knowledge into scalable software, potentially leveraging AI coding agents.
- Prioritize impact by ruthlessly finding bottlenecks and solving the most important problems.
- Execute and focus on the excruciating minutia and details of the work.
Requirements
- Experience in one or more phases of design, construction, commissioning, and operation of utility-scale power generation facilities.
- Experience ideally on utility-scale generation (solar, BESS, or gas plants), or on the load side of large industrial power systems such as data centers or heavy industrial facilities.
- T-shaped technical excellence: broad understanding of how the civil scope connects to adjacent disciplines and the implications of trade-offs across them, with deep expertise in 1-2 areas.
- Evidence of strong first principles thinking; challenged "this is how we've always done it" syndrome.
