About the Role

Empire Life is seeking a Group Marketing Manager to join their Marketing team for a 12-month contract. This role offers impactful work, opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and the chance to hone both technical and functional skills in a supportive environment that values work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to meet the needs of plan sponsors, plan members, and distribution partners, optimizing growth and retention of Group Solutions products.
  • Independently manage and streamline day-to-day marketing administrative operations, taking full ownership of tasks for seamless execution.
  • Partner with internal and external resources to create, manage, and implement marketing plans and strategies that raise awareness, build the brand, champion innovation, and increase visibility and consideration of Empire Life's products.
  • Develop, execute, and measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing campaigns deployed through various channels, including email, social media, and digital advertising.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans to support Group Marketing Products and initiatives.
  • Provide input into the ongoing development and refinement of Empire Life's brand positioning and voice.
  • Provide marketing support for product launches, advisor councils, regional meetings, campaigns, and branding initiatives.
  • Utilize digital marketing tools and technologies to develop and deliver marketing campaigns and content, leveraging social networking to achieve business results.
  • Create marketing briefs to identify marketing strategies, tactics, and rationale for Group Products and initiatives, including metrics for effectiveness.
  • Leverage generative artificial intelligence to develop and enhance marketing messages, materials, and communications.
  • Ensure the value proposition and key messages are consistent and resonate with the target audience.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including internal and external partners, to develop marketing and communication processes for timely and effective information flow.
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases and cost-benefit analyses for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Utilize fact-finding methodologies to gather industry, market, competitor, distribution channel, and client research to understand the customer and develop targeted marketing communication tactics.
  • Drive end-to-end webinar administration, managing logistics, setup, and live production for polished, engaging events.
  • Manage administration and lead educational webinars, roadshows, and support regional content to raise the profile of Empire Life in the market.
  • Manage external advertising relationships and partner on ad spend recommendations with the Senior Marketing team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a marketing role within the financial services, insurance, or group benefits industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in content development and strategic execution for a variety of media and channels, including email, web, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of virtual event platforms and their hosting requirements (e.g., BigMarker).
  • Knowledge of Canadian group insurance, group retirement, or financial products and their use with advisors and plan sponsors is preferred.
  • Understanding of all aspects of branding and sales communications.
  • Strong understanding of a sales-focused approach, industry, distribution model, and clients.
  • Completion of post-secondary education with courses in communications, marketing, business, or graphic design.
  • Strong expertise in word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet, social media, and presentation software and technology.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
  • Ability to apply new learning to solve problems or improve processes.
  • Clear writing, editing, proof-reading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong, well-developed organizational skills.
  • English language proficiency is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.

Salary/Compensations

  • Base salary will be determined by the successful candidate's education, skills and experience.
  • The listed salary range serves as a general pay guideline for this position's pay level.
  • The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $108,300 - $158,300 (for permanent roles only).
