About the Role
The Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Events Coordinator to provide support and lead various projects in a fast-paced environment. This role involves planning, implementing, and executing a variety of events, working closely with internal teams to champion exceptional member experiences and attract new audiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage TRBOT’s event registration system, including creating and maintaining event pages and troubleshooting member issues.
- Respond to general inquiries and deploy event invitations to staff.
- Independently lead the planning and execution of assigned events, managing budgets, vendors, timelines, and logistics.
- Support Sr. Managers in coordinating internal departments and external partners for successful event planning and delivery.
- Recommend programming and member engagement ideas to improve event planning and execution.
- Review existing and external events to identify opportunities for enhancement and create unique event experiences within budget.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to support event planning, coordination, and execution.
- Take the lead on other assigned projects as directed by the Sr. Director, Events.
Requirements
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in an events environment with exposure to project management, planning, and event execution.
- Experience in the catering/banquet and/or food and beverage industry.
- Operational knowledge of room layouts, seating plans, and banquet details.
- Strong speaking and written communication skills.
- Customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Flexibility when faced with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Outstanding service and tactful approach when faced with onsite modifications.
- Project management skills and detailed planning abilities.
- Understanding the importance of professional engagement with TRBOT’s Members and event guests.
