About the Role

The Oral Health Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between dental providers, Head Start programs, Title I schools, community partners, and parents, guardians, and caregivers. This position coordinates outreach activities, educational programming, screening events, data collection, community partnerships, and implementation of preventative screening initiatives. As part of the Oral Health team, this position educates, promotes, maintains, and improves the oral and general health of children and families in Central Texas using a bilingual, school-and-community based education curriculum and interventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social science or health related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with effective verbal, interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills, including speaking in public forums, and negotiating agreements with internal and external partners.
  • Strong organizational, project management, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of oral health and its effects on communities.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of health-related field experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an oral health education program or other health-related field.
  • Minimum of two years of applied clinical dental experience.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
  • Computer proficiency in Dental Management Software such as OpenDental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Carestack, etc.
