About the Role

The Federal Work Study MUS Technician will assist in the general daily operations of classrooms, labs, and rehearsal spaces, supporting students and faculty, ensuring equipment is in proper working order, and aiding the Music and Sound Department with administrative functions. This role provides students with opportunities to enhance their skills with current equipment, develop customer service abilities, and learn basic administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Check students in and out of department labs and studios.
  • Check equipment in and out for students and faculty.
  • Assist students with the use of related labs, studios, and equipment.
  • Monitor lab usage to ensure students adhere to lab policies.
  • Assist with the maintenance of spaces and equipment.
  • Assist with general departmental administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Basic Apple computer skills.
  • Familiarity with typical backline equipment (PA System, Guitars, Amplifiers and Drums).
  • Familiarity with common music production hardware, software, and practices.
  • Skilled communicator.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
