About the Role
Apex Companies is seeking a Project Scientist to provide technical oversight, perform project work, and contribute to project management activities. This role involves mentoring staff and actively developing your career within a growing firm known for its commitment to client success and employee development.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and perform project work.
- Write and review technical reports and proposals.
- Assist with project management activities.
- Mentor and train scientific staff and supervise work.
- Actively develop your own career growth.
- Perform task and project management assignments associated with environmental assessments, subsurface investigations and remedial designs, remediation, and monitoring projects.
- Prepare project deliverables, including soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, potentiometric surface maps, geologic cross sections, site sample and plume maps, work plans, and reports.
- Interact with clients and manage subcontractors.
- Mentor and train staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 5-7+ years of experience with environmental services including site investigation and characterization, including drilling and environmental multi-media sampling techniques and procedures, data interpretation and evaluation.
- Experience in the preparation of technical and regulatory reports, proposals and cost estimates.
- Working knowledge of applicable Texas laws and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and within groups.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
