About the Role

As a Pharmacist on the Health Care Quality Improvement team, you will work with healthcare providers to improve medication safety and quality for Medicare beneficiaries. This role involves analyzing drug utilization data, preventing adverse drug events, and managing high-risk medications across care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with collaborating partners and other health care providers.
  • Facilitate work with collaborating entities to develop and implement evidence-based quality improvement projects to improve medication safety.
  • Organize collaborator meetings, including agenda development, minute-taking, and follow-up.
  • Maintain expertise in Medicare beneficiary benefits related to drug utilization.
  • Provide pharmacy expertise as a consultant to other quality improvement teams.
  • Maintain documentation of all activities as per CMS requirements and IPRO policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver educational presentations to groups of providers.
  • Assist with data analysis and manuscript preparation.
  • Coordinate with preceptors for Pharm D students' advanced pharmacy practice experience rotations.
  • Perform administrative duties, including preparing progress reports and deliverables.
  • Accept new duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel to various sites throughout the IPRO region per contract (est. 25% out of area travel).
  • Ability to work well with supervision and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Clinical pharmacy
  • Principles and practice of quality improvement
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
  • Ability to interact effectively with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and government agencies
  • Analytic skills or willingness to learn
  • Ability to analyze and interpret drug utilization data
  • Familiarity with electronic health records, e-prescribing, electronic order sets and clinical decision support, and related health information technology
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and relationships with multiple parties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce

Experience Level

  • Five (5) years of pharmacist work experience
  • One (1) year in quality improvement activities and/or pharmacy data analytic activities
  • One (1) year in quality improvement activities and/or pharmacy data analytic activities (preferred)

Education Level

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Current licensure in any state

Salary/Compensations

  • $115,000.00 – $126,000.00
