About the Role

Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group is seeking a full-time Front-Desk Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for veterinary clients, significantly influencing their experience. The ideal candidate is a customer service expert adept at handling fast-paced environments, communicating effectively, and demonstrating a strong passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets, manage appointment check-ins, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
  • Accurately account for service and product sales, process payments (including credit/debit cards), and schedule future appointments.
  • Handle incoming client calls regarding appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests.
  • Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Demonstrate understanding of common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized environment to ensure a positive client experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a veterinary office is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  • Comfort discussing sensitive topics, such as end-of-life care and financial matters, with empathy.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor.
