About the Role

Supervised by a Registered Nurse or Physician, the LPN guides patients through a seamless process to ensure high-quality and efficient care. Responsibilities include directing patients through appointments, providing nursing services, and performing phone triage. The role involves collaborating in care planning, determining urgency of care needs, triaging emergent situations, and scheduling appointments to maximize patient care and unit efficiency. Maintaining the flow of the Provider schedule and minimizing patient wait times are key. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • Fulfills the requirements to be a Licensed Practical Nurse in NY State
  • Minimum six months of LPN experience preferred
  • Outpatient primary care and/or pediatric experience preferred
  • New York State licensed practical nurse
  • Current American Heart Association CPR and AED certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
  • Knowledge of age-specific medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions
  • Understanding of documentation standards
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment
  • Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, infectious disease management and control, and safety standards
