About the Role

This internship program is designed to develop fundamental skills supporting the underwriting team. The intern will learn to review and evaluate business information to determine appropriate classification and pricing, working closely with experienced underwriters to learn customer service skills and standards. The program aims to provide a full understanding of the underwriting discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing underwriting reports
  • Supporting underwriters with coordinating and processing policies
  • Enter policy information into policy management system
  • Marketing
  • Administrative assignments
  • Participation with special projects, as assigned

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in such areas as business administration, finance, economics, statistics, communications, or risk management and insurance
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours a week) during the summer and part-time (15 hours) in-office during the academic year
  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Strong organization skills
  • Able to manage/prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
