About the Role
As a Software Developer IV on the Workplace Services Engineering team, you will design and build scalable applications and services. You will drive modernization initiatives to enhance platform security, stability, performance, and resilience, ultimately reducing risk and delivering seamless user experiences at scale. You will apply deep full-stack development expertise to solve complex technical problems, influence architectural decisions, and deliver secure, reliable solutions. Your work will directly contribute to modernizing platforms supporting Schwab’s growth in workplace financial services.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable applications and services.
- Drive modernization initiatives to strengthen platform security, stability, performance, and resilience.
- Reduce risk and deliver seamless user experiences at scale.
- Apply deep full-stack development expertise to solve complex technical problems.
- Influence application and architecture decisions.
- Deliver secure, reliable solutions.
- Evaluate tradeoffs and communicate recommendations.
- Mentor teammates.
- Adapt as priorities and technologies evolve.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of full-stack web development experience.
- Experience with C#/.NET Core development.
- Designs enterprise-level services, systems, and architecture patterns, including working knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
- Experience creating and consuming REST APIs.
- Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) expertise.
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and client-side MV* frameworks.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT).
- Experience with SQL and Relational Databases, including integration between backend services and databases.
- Experience evaluating and improving application performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Ability to apply Problem Solving and Decision Making to complex application, performance, stability, and modernization challenges.
- Strong Communication and Collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts and influence decisions across organizational levels.
- Experience with accessibility practices for web applications.
- Experience with Unit Testing and test-driven or behavior-driven development practices.
- Ability to demonstrate Adaptability and Continuous Learning as technologies, business needs, and delivery priorities evolve.
- Experience mentoring teammates and contributing to collaborative technical decision-making.
- Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team.
