Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their mental health status and diagnose psychiatric conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and referrals to other healthcare professionals.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring effective treatment while managing side effects and interactions.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to build therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies, while advocating for their needs within the healthcare system.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in mental health care.

Requirements

  • NYS Professional Registered Nurse license required.
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
  • Knowledge of electronic Medical Records Systems required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
