About the Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing assumes 24-hour responsibility for patient care on the unit, coordinating nursing activities and managing administrative responsibilities. This role ensures patient care aligns with hospital, nursing department, and external agency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assume 24-hour responsibility for the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care on the unit.
  • Coordinate and control all nursing activities.
  • Assume administrative and managerial responsibilities on a 24-hour basis.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure consistency with hospital and nursing department policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure patient care meets state DOH, JCAHO, and other accrediting agency standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Medical/Surgical or clinical experience required.
  • Previous supervisory responsibilities required.
  • NYS RN license required.
