About the Role
PharmScript, part of the Optum family, is a leading pharmacy partnering with long-term and post-acute care facilities. This role focuses on providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care, ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery to residents and patients. You will be a team player, eager to support colleagues and contribute to the pharmacy's goals and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescription orders for accurate dispensing, medication safety, and regulatory compliance for long-term care residents.
- Conduct medication regimen reviews and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize resident medication therapy.
- Provide clinical support and drug information, including recommendations on dosing, therapeutic alternatives, drug interactions, and adverse effects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, including controlled substance management, documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Oversee medication distribution processes, inventory management, and timely delivery of medications.
- Participate in quality assurance, medication safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support facility staff through education, consultation, and assistance with medication-related questions.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice (Connecticut).
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
