About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of the parts department. The Parts Counter Associate assists customers and service technicians by identifying, sourcing, and selling parts and accessories efficiently and accurately. Success requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to a customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide parts support to service technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Accurately process all sales transactions, including cash, credit, and check payments
- Handle core returns, warranties, and merchandise returns in accordance with dealership procedures
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory movement
- Verify incoming shipments and receiving documentation
- Follow up on parts shortages and communicate with the Parts Manager to expedite orders
- Support merchandising efforts to ensure parts are properly displayed and stocked
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department
- Utilize dealership tools and systems safely and effectively
- Attend training to stay current on products, systems, and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions and inventory handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and follow company policies, procedures, and established protocols
- Problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Basic automotive knowledge or willingness to learn
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
