About the Role
At JetBlue, cyber security is driven by Risk Management and Threat-Informed Defense. This role oversees and prioritizes risk-reduction efforts for vulnerability identification, prioritization, and remediation, including cloud and application layer vulnerabilities. The position reports to the Director – Cyber Security and collaborates closely with Threat Intel, Security Monitoring, Detection & Incident Response teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evolve, and maintain JetBlue’s Vulnerability Management Program, including managing scanning tools, cloud security platforms, and overseeing the discovery process, exposure management, and external attack surface posture.
- Manage the team, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, TSA, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT, networking, and other departments to drive vulnerability and misconfiguration remediation across a hybrid environment and manage external attack surface exposure.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, and application development teams to establish visibility into potential risks in a large-scale cloud environment.
- Oversee analysts, partners, and service providers to ensure effective vulnerability discovery and tracking processes, including metrics and reporting.
- Articulate and prioritize risk for stakeholder and leadership teams.
- Coordinate with the Penetration Testing program to reduce risk throughout the software development, deployment, and testing lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Threat Intel and Pen Test teams for immediate risk assessment of actively exploited vulnerabilities and threat-actor campaigns.
- Make informed decisions on risk, prioritization, and resource allocation based on business requirements, network topology, and other factors.
- Develop integration and automation strategies and manage analysts to optimize workflows between Vulnerability Management and asset/application teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, controls, and Risk Exception/Acceptance processes related to Vulnerability response.
- Play a significant role in developing direct reports and other Crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Analysis, or a related discipline; OR demonstrated capability with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience in Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, IT Platform Engineering, or related fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Rapid7), cloud security platforms (e.g., Wiz, Orca), and Attack Surface Management tools and concepts.
- Experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as PCI Security Standards, ISO 27001, and/or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Experience with application security concepts and scanning methodologies (e.g., static code analysis, dynamic application security testing).
- Understanding of application container architecture.
- Leadership and management experience, including leading a team.
- Risk Management knowledge and experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Legally eligible to work in the country.
- Authorization to work in the US is required; not eligible for visa sponsorship.
