About the Role

BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper School is seeking qualified candidates for an On-Campus Substitute Teacher for immediate hire. This position serves as a substitute teacher for multiple subject areas across elementary, middle, and high school classes. This position is a full-time, on-campus position during regular school hours.

Requirements

  • All applicants must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited or approved college or university.
  • Experience with children is preferred.
  • A high level of personal responsibility and optimism is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, achievement-oriented learning environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time inside and outside of the building.
  • Frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
  • Regularly required to hear and use clear vision with or without correction.
