About the Role
The Turndown Attendant works evenings to refresh occupied guest rooms, ensuring they are clean, attractive, and welcoming. This role involves providing turndown service and adding extra touches to prepare the room for the guest's return.
Responsibilities
- Provide turndown service by neatly pulling back bed covers and placing an amenity on the pillow/bed.
- Tidy up bedrooms, place shoes at the foot of the bed, and fold unfolded clothing.
- Vacuum guest bedrooms and empty trash/recycling bins.
- Refresh and tidy bathrooms by emptying trash and replacing/replenishing towels.
- Replace and restock guest room and bathroom items.
- Inspect furnishings for correct placement and neat appearance.
- Remove Room Service trays, dishes, and carts from rooms and place them in designated hallway locations.
- Cover trays and carts with napkins, note their locations, and call Room Service for retrieval.
- Turn on guest room bedside lamps before exiting.
- Secure guest room doors upon exit.
- Prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Work productively and efficiently with or without supervision on routine tasks.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule including nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
- Complete turndown paperwork neatly, thoroughly, and accurately.
- Adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards.
- Learn and demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies.
- Learn and retain knowledge of historical facts about Mohonk Mountain House.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
- Present a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Attend events, programs, and trainings as needed.
- Answer guest questions accurately and engage with guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Speak, read, and write English, communicating clearly and congenially.
- Hear verbal instructions, directions, and warnings.
- Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, flexing arms, walking stairs/inclines, sitting, climbing ladders, and standing for up to 5 hours.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Lift up to 30 pounds from ground to waist level and carry up to 35 feet.
- Walk up to 7 miles per day.
- Maneuver carts with loads up to 300 pounds safely.
- Act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Utilize vision capabilities including close/distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Operate housekeeping vehicles safely.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and at least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience.
- Applicants who are at least 18 years of age that do not meet driving license requirement will be considered.
- Previous hotel-related experience / cleaning desired.
