About the Role
As a data engineer, you will help clients find answers in their data to impact important missions. You will build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on mission-driven projects. You will deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. You will work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment, using your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while managing the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
- Manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients.
- Guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Conduct data architecture and ETL for the DoD or a federal agency.
- Evaluate AI and ML model performance.
- Streamline existing workflows by integrating LLMs and GenAI.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with major data science languages such as Python and R.
- 4+ years of experience retrieving, merging, and analyzing structured and unstructured data sources from APIs and databases through Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI).
- Experience preparing data for use with AI or GenAI models.
- Experience with data analytics, data mining, statistical analysis, or AI and ML.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in data engineering, or 12+ years of experience in data engineering in lieu of a degree.
