About the Role
This role involves supervising personnel, ensuring satisfactory performance, assigning duties, procuring necessary equipment, and providing coaching and development for employees. It also includes managing customer service, handling operational issues, answering customer questions, and ensuring proper food sanitation and security. The position requires floor management, directing daily work, and acting in the best interest of the corporation with honesty and ethical conduct.
Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel and ensure satisfactory performance.
- Assign work duties based on job descriptions and workflow.
- Procure equipment and facilities for employees.
- Provide coaching, discipline, counseling, and skill development.
- Administer first aid and seek medical treatment for employees.
- Review and enforce compliance with operational procedures, policies, safety, sanitation, union contract, and employee handbook.
- Maintain customer service during shifts.
- Handle customer problems, including approving credit, ID card use, service/food quality issues, accidents, and incidents.
- Manage operational issues such as finding substitute staff, evaluating stocking and cleaning needs, altering service needs, and redirecting customer traffic.
- Answer customer questions in person or via email.
- Perform initial troubleshooting of cash register and equipment problems.
- Sample and review products for customer presentation.
- Ensure proper food sanitation, including reviewing temperature logs.
- Open and close the operation, ensuring unit and product security.
- Handle cash and set up cash registers.
- Manage off-site services and special theme events.
- Ensure prompt, efficient, and HACCP compliant delivery of food items.
- Package food, beverages, and equipment for proper transport or holding.
- Ensure security, timely set-up, and proper display.
- Act as a clearing house for information to share with other CAS staff members.
- Communicate in writing and verbally with campus members and facility users regarding CAS services, pricing, and policies.
- Perform floor management and supervise immediate issues.
- Complete assigned management tasks and projects.
- Direct the daily work of employees.
- Act as an agent for the employer, making decisions in the best interest of the corporation.
- Conduct oneself with honesty and follow ethical standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Three years of experience in food service or retail sales.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle may be required.
- Driver's license must not have any high-risk factors as defined by the Company's vehicle insurance company.
Skills
- Computing skills for cash change, inventory, and portion calculation.
- Ability to comprehend product labels, recipes, and safety instructions.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Proficiency with office equipment.
- Ability to effectively motivate, train, and supervise employees.
- Ability to interact diplomatically with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in various locations.
- Ability to determine order and sequence of tasks with limited daily supervisory direction.
