About the Role
Snap Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to build state-of-the-art mobile and desktop web software applications and systems. This role involves implementing features, optimizing user-facing products, contributing to Snap's engineering culture, and utilizing AI tools for scalable service design.
Responsibilities
- Build State of the art mobile and desktop web software applications and/or systems
- Follow high-quality design and implementation practices
- Implement features and user interfaces to optimize performance of user-facing products
- Contribute to Snap’s engineering culture by working on shared libraries and systems
- Log and analyze operational and engagement metrics
- Utilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
- 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 5+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field+ 2+ years of post-grad software development experience
- Experience with full stack web development
- Experience with WebGL, Canvas, WebAssembly, Service workers, or other advanced front-end technology
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with large-scale microservices and distributed systems
- Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services
- Passion for building a rich and innovative user experience
Skills
- JavaScript (and/or TypeScript), HTML, and CSS
- Java, Golang, NodeJs, and/or Python
- Javascript UI Frameworks (i.e React, Angular, Vue)
- Object-oriented and functional programming principles
- Domain driven design principles
- Unit testing
- Front end design and/or web application development
- Writing code for User Interface components
- Optimizing JavaScript performance and browser layout rendering
- Identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues
- Leveraging AI tools to streamline development
- Auditing generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
- Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools

- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $209,000-$313,000 annually
- Zone B: $199,000-$297,000 annually
