About the Role
Millennium is seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their Equities Trading team. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of their research and trading infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining production systems, supporting research workflows, and driving improvements across their infrastructure. You will work closely with developers, researchers, and portfolio managers to ensure seamless operations and continuous innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and build out environments.
- Perform continuous status checks on research and trading-critical automated tasks.
- Develop automated testing frameworks and AI-driven solutions to enhance the quality of research and development outputs.
- Identify opportunities to improve the stability and performance of infrastructure components and implement solutions.
- Continuously monitor logs for all production applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations.
- Oversee the health and performance of data pipelines, including the team’s data pipeline and other dependencies.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of external data.
- Work closely with researchers, developers, and portfolio managers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Monitor and maintain web scraping pipelines to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a quantitative role.
- Familiarity with the trading process and financial markets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work hard and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
