About the Role

Responsible for program leadership and ensuring compliance with mandated clinical interventions within the Medical Center. This role interfaces with various Mount Sinai Health System departments, administrators, leadership, and clinical staff, overseeing administrative and daily operations, project leadership, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides coordination and leadership in execution of program activities, core measures, and clinical intervention compliance.
  • Develops action plans to support compliance with measures indicators and provides support and educational resources.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for core measures programs.
  • Oversees the compilation and analysis of clinical program activity data and may serve as a point of contact for data collection inquiries.
  • Selects, hires, and trains/orients staff, including RN Clinical Coordinators, clinicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Develops, monitors, and assesses professional and clinical competencies for RN Coordinators.
  • Provides technical assistance, resource services, consultation, and education.
  • Participates in and conducts process improvement analysis and identifies models of best practice.
  • Responsible for the extension of the program for new services or areas.
  • Promotes an interdisciplinary approach in patient care delivery.
  • Serves as a resource for patients and their families.
  • Maintains clinical competence, is responsible and accountable for own nursing practice, and advocates for the highest standards of nursing practice.
  • Serves as a clinical role model and resource to nursing staff.
  • Serves as a professional resource to other members of the health care team.
  • Prepares reports and analysis associated with the institutions core measures programs.
  • Facilitates cooperation within the program between all departments, services, and units.
  • Provides timely status reports of quality monitoring results, including identification of patterns and trends requiring action.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital, departmental, and care center standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as regulatory agency standards.
  • Assures readiness for Joint Commission and other agency surveys and presents related programs during visits.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Participates in quality management activities, including identifying and communicating issues of performance improvement and risk.
  • Participates in committee activities.
  • Is aware of and responsive to budgetary constraints and incorporates financial principles into program development and resource allocation.
  • Assists in the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff.
  • Researches opportunities for use in benchmarking for assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Seven years minimum progressive clinical/leadership experience.

Experience Level

  • Seven years minimum progressive clinical/leadership experience.

Education Level

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Masters in Nursing or health related field is preferred.
  • Certification in specialty area preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $71.00 - $106.00 Hourly
