About the Role
The Video Agent team is seeking an engineer to improve the Video Agent's ability to fulfill user requests, using data to prove improvements. This role involves owning features from ideation to launch and follow-up, and determining whether problems are model-related or code-related.
Responsibilities
- Build the agent by designing tools, prompts, and context.
- Improve agent planning, mistake recovery, and long conversation handling.
- Measure quality by building evals and offline replays.
- Run experiments behind feature flags and analyze results.
- Observe user sessions and agent traces to identify issues.
- Ship features across the stack, including user-facing components and backend services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and research and rendering teams.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping an AI agent used by real people, involving models calling tools, multi-step planning, and acting on results.
- Proven ability to determine if an AI system has improved, including building evals or test sets for model behavior.
- 2 or more years of professional full-stack engineering experience.
- Strong product sense, including using and observing customer usage of products.
- Demonstrated ownership by identifying and fixing important problems without waiting for a spec.
- A degree in computer science or a related field is welcome but not required; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Include a short note about an agent you have built, its functionality, how its success was measured, and a failure that was fixed. A link to code, a demo, or a write-up is a bonus.
