About the Role
This Underwriter will underwrite primarily Builder’s Risk projects, potentially Contractors Equipment and other Marine coverages, collaborating within a large team of Marine underwriters and other departments. We seek a motivated candidate with strong business and underwriting acumen.
Responsibilities
- Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms, and conditions for new business and renewals.
- Identify account rounding opportunities for other Chubb practices.
- Collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management.
- Implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies to produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations.
- Identify opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.
- Apply marketing principles, pricing/rate strategies to attain underwriting profit.
- Effectively interact with all levels of customers.
- Collaborate with a team of underwriters, claims, and loss control personnel.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in underwriting.
- Proven marketing and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers.
- Ability to collaborate with a team of underwriters, claims and loss control personnel.
Skills
- Focused knowledge and experience in Inland Marine, with a focus on Builders Risk preferred.
- Strong sales and marketing skills.
- High degree of proficiency with the underwriting process.
- Solid background in risk analysis.
