About the Role
BPM's Advisory Services group is seeking a Manager-level professional for its Valuations practice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Valuation Manager in the thriving Silicon Valley market, requiring world-class talent with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Manage valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax, transaction and dispute support purposes, as well as audit review support.
- Demonstrate good judgment and identify/problem-solve critical valuation and process-related issues, researching and executing relevant strategies.
- Stay abreast of current technical, business, and economic developments relevant to the business valuation profession.
- Assume a management role in the generation of detailed valuation exhibits and reports, and manage the quality control process.
- Embrace business development activities and develop and achieve new business goals.
- Develop and maintain an active network of contacts and participate in industry groups and associations.
- Communicate effectively with group leadership, staff, external relationships, and other BPM service segments.
- Develop and maintain positive and value-added relationships with clients.
- Enhance services provided to clients through effective use of technology, tools, staff utilization, and project management skills.
- Work with group leadership and the marketing team to produce marketing and thought leadership articles, projects, and presentations.
- Be team and people-focused and passionate about making a positive impact on clients, colleagues, and communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, mathematics, economics or finance, from an accredited college/university or equivalent is required.
- Advanced degree in business or finance preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in business valuation at an accounting, valuation, consulting, or investment banking firm.
- 5-8 years’ total experience in professional services.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying new opportunities for work, up-selling and cross-selling highly desirable.
- Understanding of derivatives and advanced modeling techniques for companies in the life sciences and technology industries strongly preferred.
- Strong foundation of financial valuation requirements for fair value analyses under financial reporting requirements required.
- Connected into a market for business development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
- Experience with Crystal Ball and advanced analytical tools preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong business and financial statement analysis skills.
- Solid understanding of the capital markets.
- Client and staff management skills are required.
