About the Role
Provide leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of the Medicines Management Technician service. Work closely with the Pharmacy Leadership Team to drive service improvements, support the development of the technical team, and ensure the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused medicines management service.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Medicines Management Technicians.
- Ensure patients receive accurate medicines reconciliation.
- Ensure patients receive evidence-based medication counselling and advice.
- Ensure patients receive a seamless discharge experience.
- Play a key role in workforce planning.
- Play a key role in training and development.
- Play a key role in service audits.
- Play a key role in performance reporting.
- Play a key role in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure pharmacy services meet the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) - Essential
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) accreditation – Essential
- Medicines Management/Medicines Optimisation qualification – Essential
- Significant experience in medicines management/optimisation within a hospital setting - Essential
- Strong dispensary experience and knowledge of pharmacy operational services - Essential
- Proven leadership, people management and service improvement skills - Desirable
- Level 4 post-qualification or equivalent (NVQ4) - Desirable
