About the Role

Responsible for performing food service duties related to the preparation and service of food to patients, residents, and customers of RRH facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble patient, resident, and customer meals or nourishments according to menu and diet specifications using proper food handling practices in a timely and organized manner.
  • Perform required duties in the facilities dish room or designated cleaning area.
  • Deliver food carts to and from units while maintaining excellent customer relations.
  • Accurately deliver and fill supplies to units as required.
  • Assist with maintaining organization of coolers, freezers, and dry storage to facilitate inventory control.
  • Maintain work areas in a safe, sanitary, and orderly manner, demonstrating proper equipment use and sanitation techniques.
  • Replenish work stations and supplies for the next meal or shift.
  • Safely operate food service equipment and utilize personal protective equipment according to manufacturer labels and SDS information.
  • Attend and retain all staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Maintain a positive representation of Food and Nutrition Services through professionalism, hygiene, and uniform.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the department.
  • Handle cash and use register as required.
  • Obtain a valid American National Standards Institute accredited Food Safety Certification (i.e. ServSafe, NRFSP) within 3 months of hire for ElderOne.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred.
  • Previous food service experience preferred.
  • Moderate physical requirements including frequent standing, walking, moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.), repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, or pulling.
  • Maintain awareness in high-traffic or operational areas.
  • Critical visual focus and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to manage interruptions, prioritize tasks, and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Awareness of potential environmental exposures including equipment noise, shared workspaces, and occasional proximity to hazardous areas.
  • Physical capability screening may be required.
