About the Role

The Global Lounge Design team sets the vision for how the American Express brand is expressed in physical spaces and 3D applications, managing branding and design from concept through construction. The Sr. Analyst – Lounge Design Strategy will support the team in developing design aspects of Card Member facing permanent spaces globally, primarily in airports and travel segments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lounge Design team with daily requests
  • Collaborate with internal American Express teams and external agencies to optimize Card Member spaces, leveraging design to bring the brand to life
  • Contribute to the environmental brand direction and coordination for all stages of design, including existing space audits, conceptual design, design development, drawing reviews, construction, and post-construction review
  • Liaise with interior design, graphic design, and architect partners on creative briefing, project asks, and design direction
  • Support the broader Branded Environments team with design status updates, planning exercises, and deliverables for internal business units
  • Support furniture and accessory coordination across projects
  • Support ongoing operational design needs including card member signage, design maintenance, smallwares, and uniforms
  • Support digital documentation of project specifications
  • Participate in all team meetings, reviews, phone calls, and communication between project teams
  • Create a positive team environment through proactive collaboration and cooperation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial interior design, branded environmental design, or similar discipline
  • Passionate, curious, and knowledgeable about great branded hospitality environments and experiences
  • Strong sense of design principles and understanding of permanent physical space design with a brand lens
  • Familiarity with space planning, floorplans, furniture planning, and adjacencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate on multiple projects in various phases simultaneously, meeting timeline expectations
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and Acrobat Pro DC
  • General understanding of production or construction processes is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, environmental design, graphic design, or similar
  • Case studies/portfolio demonstrating ability to contribute to environmental/interior design initiatives and deliver best-in-class design solutions
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
